Nicolai Due-Gundersen

I'm a political analyst specialising in Arab nationalism, culture, tribalism and the Arab Spring. My work on the Arab Spring focuses on the political legitimacy of Arab governments through non-democratic factors and how such governments respond to the Arab Spring. From 2012-16 I resided in Jordan, working for NGOs while studying Arabic and am married to a Jordanian. I have travelled to Morocco, visited the tomb of Iran's last Shah in Cairo (Egypt), encountered armed men in Beirut (Lebanon), examined weapons seized during the Dhofari War in Muscat (Oman) and handled spent shell casings from Iraqi tanks in Kuwait. I currently reside outside of London.
